Topology of Absence

3D prints and Bamboo rods,150*250*175 cm, 2025

A structural installation composed of a system of unique 3D-printed joints and small bamboo rods. Each joint was created from a series of classical geometric solids (Platonic, Archimedean, and Catalan) that underwent a process of "topological optimization": a computer simulation that identifies force paths in the object and "melts" away all material not necessary for structural stability. The result is a refined geometric skeleton where each joint is a unique creation, connecting the bamboo into a large-scale spontaneous structure.
