The Void Geometry

3D Print, 10*11 cm, 2025

About the Work:

A 3D-printed sculptural object created through a process of subtraction. The original form was processed using a "Gyroid" algorithm—a complex geometric structure composed entirely of curves without straight lines. The final piece retains a contour reminiscent of a human figure or a living entity, but it is perforated and open, with a bio-organic appearance resembling coral or microscopic skeletal structures.

The work examines the concept of "void" not as an absence, but as a shaping factor. The Gyroid is a minimal surface that separates two infinite spaces; in this work, the material serves only to give presence to the void that surrounds and penetrates it. The transition from the familiar figure to the abstract form invites the viewer to wonder about the seam between the structural and the biological, and between the solid and what exists within the spaces between them.
